Seriously, for all my SI readers who are asking me to put salt on the crow I'm eating, I hope for your sake that the MLS teams play well down in Mexico. I guess some people just can't wait to jump on writers they either disagree with or dislike or whatever to pounce on them.
I'm still waiting for someone to point out specifically where I said that MLS teams are terrible.

Luis, buddy, shake it off. I know how you feel - I wrote sports for five years, and the mail I got was mind-blowing. It sucks to have people say nasty things about you, especially in public. But none of it has any bearing on who you are, what you do, or how well you do it.
You're a good solid writer, Luis, and you're growing all the time. What's more, you're doing something you love for money. Dig it, keep working, keep your head down, work your contacts ... all those nay-sayers cannot keep you from producing great work. So don't let 'em.
Luis is another person who is perhaps too honest sometimes, though I wanted this blog to be someplace where we could both feel free to do that and not pull any punches.
Sometimes I feel like I have to shut off my feelings so I can stay professional and somehow prove that a female can make it in this business.
But ultimately, it's not a gender thing, it's about being human. I'll never understand how people can't disagree with someone's opinion without resorting to personal attacks.
