Junkie

Between this blog and the various outlets I write for, my computer really is kind of like a drug. I can't be without for very long without going into some convulsions, however mild they may be. I took my laptop out to training today knowing full well that chances of me using it were relatively slim and, as it turned out, the computer sat safely in my truck while I was there.

But if the computer is my drug, then the internet is the pusher that allows me to fully experience the highs of technology. Unfortunately I won't have the pusher supplying me my stuff until later. I stopped off at my mom's house to pick up my youngest daughter and take a hit of this here computer/internet combo before taking off to somewhere that I won't be able to use.

I got some good stuff today from Chivas USA training, pictures and such. I'll throw those on as time permits. For now, here's one of the various things that happened today.

I'm going to start taking my daughter Yvie out to training more often. She's old enough now so I don't have to chase her around or make sure she doesn't put dirt or trash in her mouth. That would be Kennedy. Yvie is 3. Kennedy is 17 months.

So I'm out with Yvie today and she's got on her Dora the Explorer backpack on while I have an old soccer shoe bag where I threw in some stuff, including my camera. It's light and I didn't want to lug around my laptop. When I'm getting ready to interview some Chivas players, I notice that the bag has a big hole in it. A water bottle poked its head out and advised me as such. I didn't really want anything to fall out of it like my ipod so I left well enough alone.

After I was done interviewing players, I decided to go downstairs into the bowels of Home Depot Center. I carried Yvie all the way down because it was a long walk for her. Once down there, I took everything out of my bag and put it in her backpack. It really wasn't that big of a deal because there wasn't that much stuff but still it was too much for her to carry. So Dad had to carry it.

If anyone saw a 30, er, 20-something-looking guy toting around a pink Dora backpack today at HDC, that was me. If nobody but the Chivas players saw me, good. I can't imagine the Chivas players thought that Yvie's backpack looked stylish on me.
