David Beckham day for the Galaxy, especially. Personally, since I wrote the story a while ago for espn.com about Becks coming, there's a petty part of me that wants to reply "Ha!" to all the emails I got telling me I was deluded, that it would be another five years before Becks would set foot in MLS. It's interesting that the Ronaldo to MLS story is also picking up steam. I've believed that possibility ever since SI ran a story talking about how he loved walking on the streets of New York unrecognized.
I wonder if maybe two years ago, after playing the Galaxy in that friendly, Becks and Ron happened to be sitting near each other on the bus, and one said, "Hey, this trip has been fun. We should come back again some time. I'm tired of jamon serrano."
