Champions of Peace
The Peace Queen Cup, that is. The U.S. women win the tournament. While this article credits Angela Hucles for the late winning goal, U.S. Soccer's website has Lauren Cheney as finishing off the play.
Lauren didn't touch the intended pass from Angela. The ball skipped right under the arm of a diving, distracted & caught off guard Cdn Keeper Erin McLeod.
Erin played a fine game as did Hope.
Matchtracker is blind & has it wrong, lol, the US Soccer game summary has it right.
Tough goal for Canada to give up in the final minute of injury time. :(
Congrats to the U.S. & Canadian WNTs for a splendid display of soccer!
I think some are making wayyy too much of the end of game hugs that to some didn't show Hope enough love.
Tough one indeed. Didn't see it, but the description's not pretty. Still, your ladies have played well. If you could just get DaVanna to emigrate...
Hugs? Don't know about that. The posed Championship picture on US Soccer has none other than Abby right behind/next to Hope with her hand on her shoulder....and she doesn't even look like she wants to strangle her or anything.
The whole unit seems to be doing just fine, thank you. As the Matildas might say, "No worries."
Good to see you're still dropping by Ghost! S.V. isn't paying a whole lot of attention to the WNT these days! :(
"Don't Worry, Be Happy" lol
Yeah, all is good, I saw some hugs and high fives for Hope, she was awesome & was deserving of the Player of the Game. Some just want to continue to stir the pot.
