There are only two American-born head coaches in MLS right now.
Can you guess who they are? Hint: Their teams aren't at the top of the table.
The others were born in various countries - Costa Rica, Germany, Brazil, Scotland, England, Uruaguy, and Holland. Can anyone correctly match all the MLS head coaches to their country of birth?
Jason Kreis and Tom Soehn
ReplyDeleteDo interim head coaches not count? If they do I think you've got 3.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't counting interims. El chueco is right for the first part of the trivia. Anyone want to tackle the second part and match the remaining coaches to birthplaces?
ReplyDeletewasn't soehn born in germany?
ReplyDeleteOnalfo and Kreis
ReplyDeleteTom was born in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteIll take .."I'm not sure" for 500 A.C.
ReplyDeleteSchmid - Germany
ReplyDeleteOnalfo - Brazil
Hamlet - Costa Rica
Kinnear, Nicol - Scotland
Yallop - England
Gullit - Holland
Clavijo - Uruguay
But you also left out
Preki - Yugoslavia
Osorio - Colombia

ReplyDeleteVery good, Dave. I left off a couple of countries to try and make the question tricky, but you handled it quite well.
Though to be specific, Preki was born in Serbia.
Finally, you also left out
John Carver - England
Oooh! I have an answer! Who gives a sh#t?
ReplyDeleteYou asked what country each coach was born in. Preki was born in the country of Yugoslavia. Serbia was not the name of the country when he was born.
ReplyDeleteIs this the Pedantics Anonymous meeting?
ReplyDeleteWasn't Hamlet raised in the US though?
ReplyDeleteWell, "raised" would change the country status of quite a few of the coaches - that's a whole different level of trivia.
ReplyDeleteYallop, anyone?
