Consolidation rankings
Here's the official espn.com Power Rankings, where my views get blended with many others. I'll probably stop posting my individual rankings, and just link to these instead in the future.
andrea - keep posting your rankings. I can't believe how high you have the Galaxy and, by this poll, neither can your fellow writers. I'm not on the doom and gloom bandwagon for L.A., but they do have a very long road ahead of them to stay at .500.
I, too, think you should keep posting your personal ranking. Although I posted that the Galaxy ranking that high is fantasy, I really wanted to know your reasoning for putting them there. I agree that you can judge differently when you see a team play live. I too was at the Colorado game but I admit my view was biased by my maroon-colored glasses :-) I haven't seen anyone else rank the Galaxy that high. If we see only the blended rankings, we miss out on perspective.
AC, you're kidding right? Nah, keep posting your rankings. You think Glenn Davis would quit posting stuff if he got a little heat about his opinions or rankings? Keep it coming.
I also hope you keep posting your power rankings. It's always good to have the opinion of people who know what they're talking about, especially when it's not coming through the WWL.
to the anon above- Did you read Steve Davis' article where he said Maykel Galindo needs to shut up and perform. I think there are a couple writers at ESPN that don't watch all the games, or even read the box scores for that matter.
They don't say anything about attendance in those places because it was cold there - it wasn't in LA. But at least me posting my rankings and comments here keeps people from thinking that the attendance comments were mine. Some other writer remarked on that.
Anon - Because everybody expects your 17k attendance to be due to the "home opener" and then dip the rest of the season as it's dipped every season before.
God forbid Chivas Guadalajara schedule another friendly in San Jose, the legion might all take a trip up north and abandon the team again... What was it? 9,000 against New England for one of the top spots in the league. Yikes.
Until Chivas USA proves that they can draw people, it's going to continue to be a point of discussion. There are plenty of cities that would love to have a team, and here we have the goats stubbornly sitting on the best market for soccer in the nation with perhaps one of the biggest mistakes [your team name] in American sports history, next to the XFL.
I agree with the # 2 spot

ReplyDeletePlease keep posting your rankings, they're your rankings after all, it's ok if they produce heated debate that's what makes them fun.

ReplyDeletePlease continue your rankings. As FC Uptown said, in times of doubt just as 'What Would Glenn Davis do?'
ReplyDeletewhy do they keep dissing cusa's attendance (17.5k this weekend) and say absolutely nothing about kc (8k), the revs (11k), or even columbus (13k).
ReplyDeletei mean, relax. we're not a traveling circus like fc beckham.

ReplyDeleteDon't forget the 15th team. The official name has been announced and they are last in my personal power rankings right now:
ReplyDeleteSeattle Sounders F.C.
To clear things up, they're not last cause I don't like the name. I love it. They are last cause they're not fielding a team this year.
