Ouch. Germany puts paid to my upset pick, shrugging off the challenge of North Korea, 3-0. The thing is, I recalled the U.S./Germany semi of 2003. It was considered an epic match, because except for the goals, the teams played very even.

That's like saying that except for Waterloo, Napoleon was a total success.

Or like when Landon Donovan said after the last Chivas USA/Galaxy match, "It wasn't a 3-0 game."

But it was.

Anyway, I could go on about how North Korea looked dangerous at various times, but heck, effectiveness determines the outcome. 3-0. Style points don't matter.
