I stopped by the USMNT/UCLA scrimmage today. Interestingly enough, assistant U.S. coach Peter Nowak is still declining any media interviews. I'd hoped he would loosen up after the win against Denmark. Nothing doing. He's still running laps with the team, though. Still barefoot.
As far as the scrimmage goes, the U.S. beat UCLA. However, if you count Jimmy Conrad as a Bruin still, UCLA actually won.
Jimmy Conard wasn't the only former bruin on the USMNT...
ReplyDeleteOf course not. I mentioned Bornstein in the article that is linked. However, Conrad was the only former Bruin who scored in the scrimmage, hence my reference to if former Bruins counted all as Bruins, then the Bruins actually won the scrimmage 3-2, instead of losing by the same score.
