Boyz 2 Men
I try to be objective as a reporter, I really do. But it's hard not to have a soft spot for the young US national team players that
I covered when I traveled to the 2005 U17 World Cup in Peru.
The "baby NAT's" as they're sometimes known, were a neat group of guys. At that age, they don't hide their emotions and they really leave it all on the field. It's been nice watching them progress - some, like
Preston Zimmerman, made the jump to Europe
, others moved to MLS,
like Quavas Kirk
. But
that isn't a smooth road for a lot of young players,
actually.
