So I think those October matches would give him that time he wanted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5437561489188679737.post-89522194492509469842007-08-22T09:01:00.000-07:002007-08-22T09:01:00.000-07:00Given Freddy Adu's performance in the Under-20s, I...Given Freddy Adu's performance in the Under-20s, I am surprised a bit by his omission considering Sal Zizzo got a call. They are essentially both in the same situation club-wise in Europe, trying to establish themselves with a new side. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Freddy performed well with Benfica to see him be a part of the Catalonia-Switzerland matches in October.

I would expect Altidore to be a part of the Brazil game. Before the Mexico game in February, Bradley specifically said he wouldn't call on any inexperienced or uncapped youngsters from Europe for one match in the United States, and I would suspect he followed the same logic in reverse for this game; it would make more sense to have Altidore a part of the Brazil game because that is here in the U.S. and there won't be a shock in terms of travel and a new environment (team) in a new environment (continent).

I would be more surprised, though, if Altidore was not called in to the Brazil game than if Adu's left off the Catalonia-Switzerland games.L.B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03932409909043501781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5437561489188679737.post-63262514003983090752007-08-22T08:32:00.000-07:002007-08-22T08:32:00.000-07:00I am not sure if this has been discussed, but I am...I am not sure if this has been discussed, but I am surprized they did not call Adu or Altidore into camp for the Sweden game. I understand that Bradley probably to bring them along slowly, but I noticed that Zizzo made the squad. Since Adu is already in Europe and they are flying Bornstein from LA, I am not sure why Bradley omitted him from the squad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5437561489188679737.post-81874466302760301082007-08-22T08:25:00.000-07:002007-08-22T08:25:00.000-07:00Here's hoping that young Michael does get that sta...Here's hoping that young Michael does get that start over Pablo. I'm sick of the requisite two-foot tackles that Pablo seems to insist on in every match. Plus, I really have enjoyed seeing Bradley get his shot. He's going to be a good one for us.Toddzillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15976977898612208504noreply@blogger.com
