LD and Preki

All right, they're rivals now, but in six different cases, Preki and LD have been teammates.

    It would appear that both were on the same squad for a couple of world cup qualifiers in 2002?

    They're on the MLS All Time Best XI. But that's on paper. Does that count?

    Preki and LD played for the USA side vs. the MLS All-Stars in 2002 at the HDC.

    Preki and LD played for the MLS All-Stars in 2003 vs. Chivas GUA; again the match was played at HDC.

    Also, Preki and LD were subs on the USMNT (dislike this acronym) for the Qualifier vs. Costa Rica at Arrowhead Stadium. My compatriot Larrionda was the ref in this match! (didn't know that refs could be non-CONCACAF)

    And 5 made by the Costa Rica vs USA qualifier match (for 2001) at San Jose (CR) September 5. What is it that Arena liked Preki vs. the Costa Ricans? In this match LD and Preki actually played 20+ minutes together...

    OK. 6 made by the 2:3 beating of the USA delivered by Honduras at RFK, again for the Japan/Korea WC qualifiers.

    That makes 3 WC qualifiers, 2 All-Star extravaganzas and 1 "best of" list.

    Alejandro wins! I actually didn't count the Costa Rica match at Arrowhead because both LD and Preki didn't play, but they were teammates there, and I guess they're not really playing in the MLS all-time XI either. So that's six times they've been teammates.
